
Nanhe Ustad Athletic Meet – 2026 Organized in Memory of S. Gurwant Singh Sahota Ji
Today, the Nanhe Ustad Athletic Meet 2026 was organized at Government Primary Smart School, Ghungrali Rajputan, in memory of S. Gurwant Singh Sahota Ji.

It is worth mentioning that S. Palwinder Singh Sahota Ji, brother of S. Gurwant Singh Sahota Ji, got colorful tracksuits worth one lakh rupees made and gifted to approximately 160 children of the school for this athletic meet. State Awardee teacher Shri Vikas Kapila Ji shared that S. Gurwant Singh Sahota Ji had deep affection and love for the Government Primary Smart School; he passed away recently. This time, the school teachers decided to dedicate the annual event to his name. Furthermore, all the students of the school participated in this athletic meet.
Apart from various games held during this athletic meet—such as Relay Race, Sack Race, Lemon Race, Obstacle Race, Collect the Cone Race, Tug of War, Three-Legged Race, Collect the Ball Race, Cup and Ball Race, etc.—recreational games for children were also organized.
On this occasion, from the family of S. Gurwant Singh Sahota Ji, his wife Mrs. Amritpal Kaur Sahota, his son S. Simrat Sahota, brother S. Palwinder Singh Sahota, his wife Mrs. Bikramjit Kaur Sahota, his nephew S. Dhanveer Sahota and his wife Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur Sahota, S. Gurveerinder Singh Dhaliwal, and S. Jasveerinder Singh Dhaliwal participated specially.
Additionally, Shri Manoj Kumar Ji (Deputy D.E.O. Elementary, Ludhiana) and Block Education Officer S. Ranjodh Singh Khangura Ji also specially attended this school event. School teacher Shri Vikas Kapila Ji mentioned that NRI brothers provided great support to make this program successful.
Among the NRIs who supported were Gurwant Singh’s daughter Kamaljot Kaur Bhandol and her husband Sunny Bhandol, Sukhdev Singh Kular, Pishora Singh Chahal, Gurmeet Singh Kular, Kuldeep Singh Kallu Ji, Dr. Karanjot Singh Sahota M.D. (USA), Mrs. Vaneet Kaur Sahota Advocate (Calgary), Simrat Sahota’s maternal uncle Dhaliwal Sahib, Jaswinder Sahota, and Amreek Singh Benipal Ji, who contributed financially to the school from their honest earnings. On this occasion, other donors from the village, including Davinder Singh Kular, Dr. B.S. Sehgal, Jaspal Singh, Manpreet Singh, and Madam Amandeep Kaur, also provided financial assistance to the school.
The entire village Panchayat, including Sarpanch S. Amritpal Singh, S. Amandeep Singh, S. Gurpreet Singh Guri, and S. Upinderpaljit Singh, reached the event with their companions.
Apart from them, S. Davinder Singh Kular, Kuldeep Singh Kular, Harjeet Singh Lall, Jugraj Singh, Bant Singh, Kulwinder Singh, Charanjit Singh, Sukhdev Singh Benipal, Charanjit Singh Kular, Sukhjitpal Singh Kular, Kuldeep Singh, Harbans Singh Kular, Prakash Singh, Prithipal Singh, Bhupinder Singh Jagga, SMC Chairperson Mandeep Kaur and her husband S. Manpreet Singh, Jassi Manjali, D.P. Master Gurwinder Singh, S. Jagjit Singh Jeeta, S. Tarlochan Singh Kular, S. Jagdev Singh (Football Coach) and his companion S. Gurwinder Singh, Nirmal Singh Kular, Tajinder Singh, Bhai Ajit Singh (Granthi of Guru Ghar), Bhai Davinder Singh (Granthi of Guru Ghar), S. Darshan Singh Sahota, S. Jagrup Singh Kular, Ranjodh Singh (Sewadar), Anganwadi workers Manpreet Kaur and Shinderpal Kaur, and other villagers were present.
Furthermore, CHT teachers from various schools, Mrs. Lakhwinder Kaur, Amarjit Kaur, Bhupinder Trivedi, Pradeep Kaur, along with Head Teachers and teachers Anita Bhumbla, Rupinder Kaur, Surekha Kaushal, Tejdeep Kaur, Parminder Chauhan, Kuldeep Singh, and Anu Sharma Madam, were present. Stage secretaries S. Davinder Singh Grewal and Sukhwinder Singh performed their duties excellently.
From the B.P.E.O. Office Khanna-2, Shri Gaurav Kumar Ji and Lalheri School Head Teacher Madam Anju Sood, from Khanna No. 9 Mrs. Deep Mala Sharma Ji, and from Block Khanna-2 B.M.T. S. Kulwinder Singh Bhatia and S. Rupinder Singh Bains participated in this program.
In the end, CHT Madam Mrs. Galaxy Soft and her entire staff, including Mrs. Jaswinder Kaur, Baljit Kaur, Jasveer Kaur, Jaswinder Kaur, and teachers Shri Vikas Kapila and S. Satnam Singh Ji, extended a heartfelt thank you to all members of the Sahota family, Deputy D.E.O. Shri Manoj Kumar, and B.P.E.O. S. Ranjodh Singh Khangura, as well as all the NRIs and local donors who attended, all CHTs/HTs, villagers, all Panchayat members, committees of both Guru Ghars, and teachers from various schools.
